The Technology Department vision is that technology shall be implemented to enhance, improve, engage and stimulate the learning environment for all students to advance their educational experience and skills in order to prepare them to live and work in a global community.

The use of technology facilitates global communication and collaboration--a vital skill for our 21st century learners.

As a member of the Newman family, you will become familiar with a number of tools that facilitate the daily operations of our families, students, teachers and administrators. This is a quick overview of the pieces to Newman's tech puzzle.


RenWeb is our School Information System (SIS). This system is the central database for student and family information and records. It is divided into three branches:

  • ParenstsWeb, for parents to access and see family info and student grades
  • FacultyWeb, for teachers to setup grading, take attendance and communicate with parents
  • RenWeb Portal, for school administrators.

Parents access ParentsWeb by going to > Logins > ParentsWeb

You should have received instructions for you to get your credentials for ParentsWeb. Please contact the school if you need any help.


Moodle is our Learning Management System (LMS). Moodle allows teachers to have class sites where they can post materials, resources, activities and assign, collect and grade work electronically. Moodle syncs to RenWeb so that parents can see due dates and assignment grades.

Parents do not have their own login to Moodle, but you can ask your student to let you in to their account.

Gmail and Google Apps

We use Gmail as our school email system. Every student receives a Google email account that is to be used exclusively for all school communications. In addition to email, your students' Google account provides them with cloud storage in Google Drive and Google Apps. Google Drive integrates with Moodle so that students can turn in assignments saved in their Google Drive.


We are in the third year of our 1:1 iPad program. Every student at Newman receives an iPad. It is on the iPad that students access RenWeb, Moodle, email, ebooks, the internet, etc. right from their own desk. It is expected that students will have their iPad charged and ready to use every day and that they will use the device EXCLUSIVELY for class related activities during class. All iPads are managed and supervised.
