Mary Kelly Keating Wallace “...what is it you plan to do/with your one wild and precious life?' Age 43, died peacefully at The Duke Hospice in Cn hapel Hill, NC on September 17, 2008. Kelly was born in West Palm Beach, FL, on December 21st 1964. She attended Cardinal Newman High and SoutherMiss. University. She had potential. She is survived by her son, John Caleb Wallace of Vicksburg, MS, her father Robert T. Keating of Palm Beach Gardens; three brothers, Christopher of Pembroke Pines, FL, Kevin Keating ‘87 of Portland, OR and Cameron Keating ‘89 of Lake Worth, FL; a sister, Kathleen Keating of Chapel Hill, NC. She was predeceased by her mother, Joanne B. Keating. Funeral services were held on September 26, 2008 at The Chapel of the Cross, Chapel Hill, NC. Dr. Robert Joseph Maraist,  of North Palm Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully at his home on August 18, 2008, surrounded by his loving family. Dr Maraist is the father of Alumi Annette, ‘79 of North Palm Beach, Robert, ‘80 (Sophia) of Charlotte, NC, Renee (Elijah) of North Palm Beach, Mariclaire, ’83 of North Palm Beach, Patrick, ’85 of Juno Isles, Mark, ‘87(Maria) of Boynton Beach, Paul, ’88 (Jennifer) of Tallahassee, Julienne (Lewis) of Senoia, GA, Michael (Cayla) of Gainesville, Elise (Eric) of Tallahassee, and Rosemarie of North Palm Beach; and 14 grandchildren.
Dr. Maraist is survived by his wife Mary Anne of 48 years, .
Bonnie Marie Gustafson, age 19, daughter of Natalie Jean Gustafson ’69 and granddaughter of Mrs Piescik volunteer in CNHS library and neice of Raymond Piescik 82, John Piescik’75, Peter Piescik’80 and Debra Ghioto Piescik ‘80  passed away suddenly on September 4, 2008. She was a beautiful young, devoted Christian woman with a heart of gold whose smile lit up the room leaving a lasting impression on everyone she met. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 AM on Saturday, September 13, 2008, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Palm City with a reception at the Martin County Knights of Columbus Hall in Stuart immediately following the service. In addition, a celebration of life memorial service will be held at 4 PM the same day at the First Baptist Church of Port Salerno, with fellowship to follow. Jack Potrekus, step-father of Harry Brexel.'09 died suddenly in a boating accident on Monday, August 18, 2008. Jack was a long time resident of Palm Beach Gardens and was a devoted husband and father. ADRIAN, MICHIGAN—August 26, 2008—Sister Marie Carol Hurley, formerly known as Phyllis Ann Hurley, died on August 26, 2008 at the Dominican Life Center in Adrian, Michigan. She was 89 years of age and in the 72nd year of her religious profession in the Adrian Dominican Congregation.
Sister Marie Carol graduated from St. Ann High School in West Palm Beach, Florida, . Sister was known for her theater work for 31 years at Barry University in Miami and in 1993 she was instrumental in founding the Interfaith/Peace Education Group in Miami, Florida
Sister Marie Carol is survived by a sister, Joanne Johnson of Payson, Arizona, and many relatives graduates of St Ann and Cardinal Newman High School in West Palm Beach.

Robert Paul Asselin, ‘67, died Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2008, in Jackson Hospital of Compass Lake in the Hills. Robert was a native of West Palm Beach. He graduated from Cardinal Newman High School in West Palm Beach, married Jeanette Chilson, ’71 served our country in Vietnam while in the U.S. Army and was a Master Carpenter by trade. Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Asselin of Compass Lake in the Hills; three sons, Cliff Asselin of Marianna, Clint Asselin of Dothan, Ala., and Eric Asselin of Marianna; two brothers, Michael Edward Asselin and Allen Asselin; and four grandchildren, Caitlin, Ryleigh, Kylie and Casey. PATRICIA ANN LEWIS VERNER -  On June 20, 2008, a very special lady passed to the arms of Our Lord after an extended illness. Mrs. Patricia Verner is the mother of John P. Verner '65, Patricia Verner Peacock '70 and Victoria Verner Salter '84. She is also grandmother to Jennifer Peacock '91. She will be deeply missed by not only her family but by so many who were fortunate enough to be called friend.
 She was born on February 5, 1924 in West Palm Beach, Florida. Patricia worked as a telephone operator for the West Palm Beach Exchange of Southern Bell. She supported the war effort by serving as a base operator at Camp Blanding in North Florida. Patricia was devoted to her husband and children as a homemaker but always had time to assist with the PTA and volunteer at her children's schools. After the passing of her husband, she worked at K-Mart in Lantana. She never met a stranger and was able to lift the spirits of all she met. While she lived her last two years in the Gainesville area, she had been a 60 year resident of the Town of Lantana. She will be truly missed. 'Well done good and faithful servant'. ROSEMARIE P. KEARNS - Mrs. Kearns passed away peacefully at home on July 15, 2008, surrounded by her loving family and devoted husband. Rosemarie became the loving wife of William P. Kearns and they resided in Juno Isles for forty-two years. Rose and Bill recently celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary. Rose's many community contributions include her participation in the school lunch program at St. Clare and St. Francis of Assisi Schools. She also served as area chairwoman of the American Heart Association. Rose was active with the St. Francis Xavier Missionary Society and was designated an honorary member by the General Council in Rome in 1970. She was a communicant and founding member of St. Paul of the Cross Parish. She also held a close association with Our Lady of Florida Spiritual Center. Rose's greatest calling was as doting matriarch of her large extended family. She was the cherished mother of 11 children and more affectionately known as Mom-Mom to her 24 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren She will be missed dearly by her surviving husband, Bill; her four daughters, Rebecca ‘70 (Robert) Martin of Palm Beach Gardens, Kathleen ’72 (Randall) Irwin of Jupiter, Mariclaire (Mark) Comstock of Juno Isles and Theresa ’82 (Mitchell) Thomas of Lake Worth; six sons, Paul ‘69 of Jupiter, William of Palm Beach Gardens and daughter-in-law Sharon, Frank (Ann Marie ‘83) of Juno Isles, Joseph of Hobe Sound, John of Jupiter, and Gerard ‘85 (Janene) of Jupiter. Dexter Q Orange ‘77 (DADDY DEX) was born September 6, 1958, in the red clay hills of Andalusia in Southern Alabama, to the proud parents, Isaac Anthony Orange and Mary Elizabeth Bennett Orange. It was here at a very early age Dexter began to develop a love for books and his keen desire to want to understand everything about life. His family traveled with his father to Misawa, Japan where he began his early education. After traveling around the United States and abroad, Dexter and his family finally settled in Riviera Beach, Florida. Dexter attended St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School, Cardinal Newman High School and completed his college education at Florida State University, where he received his Bachelors Degree in finance and International Economics. He served as Chapter President of the NAACP, and is a member of Delta Sigma Pi Business Fraternity at Florida State University. At age 28 Dexter served as City Council Chairman for the City of Riviera Beach, Florida. Dexter was presently Principal of Riviera Beach Maritme Academy with the Palm Beach County School District. Dexter loved his family dearly,. Jim Gallagher of North Palm Beach, age 72, died early Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at home surrounded by his wife, children and extended family after a brief battle with cancer. Jim is survived by his loving and devoted family, his wife of 49 years, Nan Davis Gallagher; and children, James Gallagher, Jr.’78, (Michelle) of Palm Beach Gardens, Joseph Gallagher ‘80 of West Palm Beach, Kerry Ann Gallagher '82 (Diedre Newton) of West Palm Beach, Maureen Gallagher Alston '85(Mark) of West Palm Beach, and Michael Gallagher ’88 of North Palm Beach; and grandchildren Catherine Alston, Walter Alston and Sarah Alston of West Palm Beach., Jim was the Sports Director for WPEC-TV, and hosted the Athlete of the Week for almost 30 years. In 1985 he was inducted into the Palm Beach County Sports Hall of Fame. He was the Radio and TV play-by-play announcer for the University of Miami Football from 1978 Ð 1983, and hosted the Howard Schnellenberger Show with the University of Miami Football in 1980 and1981. FATHER DONALD O'BRIEN, OMI passed away on May 26, 2008 in Tewksbury MA. Before Father retired to Tewksbury he donated his Newman scrapbooks for use by the Classes of the 1980's for their reunions.
 
WENDY KATE WAITE STOUT, ’81. 1963-2008 Our wonderful Wendy is now brightening heaven. Wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend to all, she will be remembered for her warmth, smile, and big heart. SEAN ASHLEY FRANKLIN, ’83 November 6, 1965-May 28, 2008 Sean Ashley Franklin was a beloved son, brother, nephew, cousin and friend. He passed away after his battle with esophagus cancer. Sean was born in Lockport, New York on November 6, 1965 into a family fresh from jolly ole' England. He spent his childhood in Lockport and moved to Jupiter, Florida as a teenager. Sean graduated from Cardinal Newman High School in 1983. Everyone in Jupiter knows Sean from his days as the kindhearted bartender at the Banana Max, Paul's Fish Fry, The Jupiter Ale House, Palm Beach Improv and Foster's Pub. Sean embraced the Florida life style - he loved the beach and the water - boating, jet skiing, fishing, biking and riding his motorcycle. He loved to snow ski out West and play ice hockey. He cheered for the Buffalo Bills and the Florida Panthers every chance he could. Sean valued the time spent with his friends enjoying life. The greatest testament to Sean's kind heart was the outpouring of love and support that his family of friends showed him during his battle. Sean was appreciated his kindness, his thoughtfulness, his generosity. Sean is survived by his mother and father, Sheila and George Franklin, and his sister, Kim Franklin.
 
JUAN FRANCISCO GELATS, ’78 , of Boca Raton, Florida, passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2008 after an extended illness. Born in Havana, Cuba, Juan was raised in Palm Beach. He was Valedictorian of his graduating classes at Cardinal Newman High School and Georgetown University. A C.P.A., he was a Senior Accounting Manager at Cross Country Home Services in Fort Lauderdale. Juan is survived by his parents, Narciso and Margarita Gelats, his grandmother, Margarita Zayas Rabel and his sister, Cristina Gelats, all of Palm Beach; his sister, Margie Connors and her husband Bill of Rowayton, CT; his brother, Jose Gelats’79 of Tampa, FL; his sister, Ani Montes and her husband, Lin of Coral Springs, FL. Before his death, Juan established a fund to assist families of cancer patients undergoing bone marrow transplants at The Nebraska Medical Center where he had been successfully treated in 1994. MARIA BELLO ZUCARO, selfless servant of the community, faithful and loving wife of Alfred Zucaro; adoring mother of Jessica, ‘02 and Cristina Bello, ‘98; devoted daughter of Caridad and Avelino Novoa; cherished sister of Albert Mills Novoa; beloved niece to Evan and Chuck Hutton and Gomer and Dulce Novoa. On Saturday, June 7, 2008 Maria Bello Zucaro passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side. Born in Havana Cuba on November 25,1954, Maria had been a resident of the Palm Beaches for over four decades and always had a heart for charities. She was an active leader in the Hispanic Community for over 25 years, and activist and fund-raiser for the American Cancer Society, American Lung Association, and Juvenile Diabetes. She was a former member of the Palm Beach County Tourist Development Council, founding member of the World Trade Center, Palm Beach and was on its board of directors. She provided visiting nursing and healthcare for the West Palm Beach Housing Authority and the Riviera Beach Housing Authority. Maria's community and civic involvements were extensive. Her impact on Palm Beach County, its citizens, visitors and society were immeasurable. She will be missed as a strong contributor and active role model for all the follow. ANA MARGARITA MAYO MICHUDA,‘74, of West Palm Beach died Sunday, April 13, 2008 after a courageous battle with cancer. Ana moved to West Palm Beach from Colombia in 1972. She was a graduate of Cardinal Newman High School, Class of 1974 Ana married her husband, Tony Michuda ‘73, and spent the rest of her life dedicated to being the best wife, mother and grandmother she could be. SHARON KYLE KELLY SMITH, ’80 died Feb. 17, 2008
Sharon graduated from Cardinal Newman High School and Palm Beach Community College School of Nursing in Lake Worth, Fla, and worked as a senior clinical research specialist. She leaves her son, Kyle B. Smith; a sister, Sheila Kelly ‘77; her brothers, Shaun Kelly, Stephen, James and Thomas Wooster; seven nephews; two nieces and numerous family members and friends.
 
THOMAS USHER NOLAN, ’83 died April 26, 2006, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Tucson, Ariz. He was born in Tarrytown, N.Y., and lived in Hobe Sound since 1982, coming from Delray Beach. He was a 1983 graduate of Cardinal Newman High School in West Palm Beach. He was a skilled stonemason. Survivors include his parents, Patrick and Elizabeth Nolan of Hobe Sound; and brothers, James Nolan of Boulder, Colo., Christopher Nolan of Ticonderoga, N.Y. and Michael Nolan of Hobe Sound. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph Nolan and Patrick Nolan Jr.’80
 
LARRY HORNING, ‘65, of Brush Creek, TN passed away on July 10, 2006. Born in Canton, Ohio to the late Larry and Stella Horning he grew up in Lake Worth. After graduating from Cardinal Newman High School and serving in the Army he began a career, at Bell South from which he had retired. His children, Heather of Palm Springs, FL Hope of Port St. Lucie, FL, Jonathan of Somerset, PA, and Meghan of Brush Creek, TN will sadly miss him.
 
PAUL LEFEBVRE '67 passed away quietly in his home resulting from a heart attack. Paul is survived by an uncle.  His death occurred on March 10, 2004.

WILLIAM D. LANG, Sr., of Boynton Beach, FL died peacefully on March 3, 2008.. Bill is survived by his wife, Mimi of 63 years; his son, William D. Lang ‘62, Jr. of Boynton Beach, FL; his two daughters, Mary Ann DiMarzio of Acworth, GA and Virginia A. Lang, PhD of San Diego, CA.
 
JOHN JOSEPH McHALE John was a Member of the Board of Directors of St. Mary's Hospital in West Palm Beach the Treasure Coast Hospice and benefactor of Cardinal Newman High School. He was an athlete all his life as an avid handball player, golfer and tennis player. He would play any game that involved a ball and/or a stick. He was predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Patty in 2001. He leaves six children: Patricia McHale Glaws (Peter), John Jr. (Sally), Kevin, Anne McHale McLeod (Doug), Brian ‘72 (Susana), Mavie, and 15 grandchildren: Rachael, Peter, McHale and Fletcher Glaws, Duncan, William and Franny McHale, Brendan, Kyle, Annabelle and Oliver McLeod and Kelly, Cameron, Brian and Alex McHale all of whom he loved extravagantly, spoiled unceasingly and whose exploits he occasionally mentioned in public. IRENE BONYAI age 83, of West Palm Beach, FL passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2008. She is survived by a loving daughter, Tiffany Brenda Bonyai ‘67 (Gregory Meese), and one brother, Edward Fiedorowicz of Torrington, CT. Her husband, Edward, and son, Duane.’65, preceded her in death. KAY SUITER, age 68, of Palm Springs, FL, died on Saturday, January 19, 2008 in the Hospice at JFK Medical Center. She attended St. Ann’s Catholic School with the Class of 1957. Kay was a member of St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Lake Worth; and was the Secretary to the Principal at St. Luke’s Catholic School for six years until her retirement in 1978. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Jack Suiter of Palm Springs, FL; and two sons, William J. Suiter ‘74 (Eileen K. Schoon) of Indialantic, FL, and Daniel R. Suiter ‘82 (Lisa) of Griffin, GA. Kay was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathryn.
 
MARK L. BUCKLAND Age 56, of Royal Palm Beach, FL, passed away Sunday, January 20, 2008. Mark was a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran. JOSEPH F. ALOI, of Lake Park passed away on November 16, 2007 after an extended illness. He was a devoted husband, father and educator, as well as a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish. He leaves behind his loving wife Ellen, four children- four children-Matthew, ’80, Edward, ’81, Thomas ‘82 and Mary Jo ’85, and seven grandchildren.
 
BRIAN SEAN DONOHAN, ‘77, passed away from a long illness at home with Gold Coast Hospice with his nurse sister and best friend Rosemarie and their rescue dog "Teddy" on September 29, 2007. Brian was born and raised in Dumont, NJ. He moved to Boynton Beach, FL and attended Cardinal Newman High School. He graduated from FSU and was employed by IBM and Lexmark. He is preceded in his death by parents, Rose and Harold Donohue; brother, T.J. Donohue and Nana Rose Jewett. His surviving family is his brother, Kevin Donohue; nephew, Brian Donohue; sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and Paul Witte; nieces, Tia, Alyssa Rose Donohue,. Brian had never met a stranger and was kind and concerned about everyone. He was blessed with a great sense of Irish humor. He was also a huge animal lover.. "Bri" will truly and most deeply be missed all the days of our lives.

GEORGE UGARTEMENDIA, '71, of Palm Beach Gardens, died October 3, 2007 after a  long illness. George was the backbone of the class of 1971. Supported by an enthusiastic committee he made sure that the class had good reunions and even a “50” birthday party! He was preceded in death by his Mother, Olga. His lovely wife Lynn survives him to care for his family. He will be missed by the class of 1971, friends and all who knew him.
 
DEVIN SHANE CLEARY ’02 Age 23, of Palm Springs passed away on Tuesday July 24, 2007 as a result of an automobile accident in Miami. Devin was a 3rd generation native of West Palm Beach. He attended St. Luke School; he was also a 2002 graduate of Cardinal Newman H.S. where he received the Florida Bright Future Scholarship, and was also listed in the Who's Who of American H. S. Students and played on the baseball team. While a student at Florida International University Miami Devin was on the Dean's List and recently graduated, 2007, with a Bachelor Degree in Athletic Training and Sports Medicine. After graduation he was attending the Master Program to continue his studies. Devin loved to customize trucks, playing videos, playing poker, listening to music and he was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. He also loved to watch and participate in sports. As a youngster he was a participant in community baseball leagues in Lake Worth and at Lake Lytal. Carol Marie Finneran Straton, ’70 beloved wife, daughter, sister and friend, passed away peacefully in her home on August 28, 2007, Carol leaves behind her husband, Leaword G Straton, III, her mother, Dorothy Finneran, sister, Dale Williams, ’66 (Greg), sister, Judith Schott, ’70 and husband, brothers Stephen (Luisa), Michael (Lyn) and several nieces and nephews.
 
MARY JO HARGIS GLOCKER, ‘68 died peacefully and comfortably in her home with her family, June 3, 2007 Mary Jo passed away after fighting a 15 month battle with Pancreatic Cancer. She was the loving wife of Gerald’68 and the caring mother of Peter and Sandra. Mary. Mary Jo will be sadly missed but lovingly remembered by her mother Eddy B. Hargis, brothers James J. CHRISTINE ROUSSEAU CARUSO, ‘76, of Okeechobee FL, died suddenly on June 2, 2007. In the presence of her loving husband, Pat, and many friends, Chris collapsed and immediate resuscitation efforts failed. She attended St. Mark's Catholic school in Boynton Beach and graduated from Cardinal Newman High School in West Palm Beach. During those years, besides achieving academic excellence, Christine became an accomplished organist, tennis player and swim team member. While living in Ft Pierce, she met the love of her life, Patrick Caruso. Chris and Pat were married in 1989 and the family was blessed with their son, Patrick born in 1990. She was passionate about family and friends, animals and native Florida gardening. She befriended all who came into her life with compassion and love. All who knew and loved her will dearly miss her. Christine is survived by her adoring husband, Pat, and loving son, Patrick Jr. along with her mother, Margaret Rousseau, sister, Sheila Rousseau Taylor ‘64 and husband, Bob Taylor, Boynton Beach; brothers, John R. Rousseau Jr. and wife Jayne, their children Adam and Alex, Atlantis FL, and James Rousseau of Okeechobee and daughter Amanda Rousseau USAF San Antonio TX.
 
TONY HUELLER, '87 passed suddenly from this earth on Thursday, April 12, 2007. His wife Georgia, son George, age thirteen, and daughter Ana Alexandra survive him, age eight. JEFF A GROOVER, (1967), of Gray, TN was called home to God on Saturday
January 20, 2007. He was born in West Palm Beach, Florida and graduated from Cardinal Newman High School in 1967. Jeff was extremely involved and dedicated to the baseball, football and basketball teams at Cardinal Newman, and lettered in baseball.
Survivors include: his wife, Camellia A. "Cammie" Davis Groover and daughter, Camellia J."Sunny" Groover; and daughter, Nicole A. Groover, one son, Joshua D. WADE R BYRD, Jr. (1982), of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2006. Wade practiced law in Lenoir, North Carolina; and later taught History and English at Cardinal Newman where he also served as Dean of Admissions and Chairman of Fundraising. He loved working with students. Wade is survived by his mother, Sharon Noel Stewart; his father, Wade R. Byrd, Sr.; sister, Michel Byrd Ellis (1983) (Tom) and their children, Nicole, Noel, Nobel and Natalie; sister, Nicole Byrd Henderson (Dale) and their children, Lucy, Lilly and Jay.
 
CAPTAIN SEAN CONNELY BLANK, '83 born in Newport, RI on November 9, 1965, was the son of Michael J. Blank, Jr. and Barbara (Connelly) Blank of Palm Beach Gardens, FL and Newport, RI. He is survived by his wife, Vivian and their son, Shane Connelly Blank of Port Saint Lucie; daughter, Tiffany Lauren and son, Tyler Joseph Blank, also of Palm Beach Gardens, FL. Sean was a 1983 graduate of Cardinal Newman High School and attended Belmont Abbey College in North Carolina. His siblings and their spouses will sorely miss him.

JOSEPH L. BONIKOWSKI, Sr., 71, formerly of North Palm Beach, died of cancer August 4 in Montgomery, Ala.  Joe attended Mastbaum Tech in Philadelphia and had a 51-year career as a master furniture refinisher. Joe is survived by Penelope, his loving wife of 46 years. They have four devoted sons: Joseph Jr. ‘79 (Linda) of Palm Beach Gardens; James (Alina) of London, England; Brian (Mary) of Montgomery, Ala.; and Kevin (Cindy) of Weston. NANA” MARY A. MONICK of West Palm Beach passed away on Sunday, July 22, 2007 at the age of 94. Born in Mahanoy City, PA, Mrs. Monick has been a resident of West Palm Beach, since 1957. Survivors include daughters, Rita Ann (Dennis) Peterson and Martina M. (Jon) Schmid ’67. Also surviving are grandchildren, Eric Peterson, Kathleen (Paul) Dean, Carrie (JB) Murray ‘91 Kristine, Janice and Mark Schmid and four great grandchildren. VIRGINIA INSERRA-BABIN Virginia Inserra-Babin of North Palm Beach passed away peacefully at home Sunday, July 22, 2007. She married Henry Inserra in 1948 and moved to Florida with her family in 1958. Virginia and Henry opened the Butcher Boy in 1961 and worked side by side until their retirement in 1974. Virginia and her husband were founding members of St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church in 1970 and she was a daily communicant at Our Lady of Florida Spiritual Center and St. Paul's. Henry preceded Virginia in death in 1979, she married Jeffrey Babin on June 2, 1990 and they shared 17 years of a happy marriage and his loving care for her. She is survived by her loving husband and children, Patricia Wengierski ’67 (Tim); Henry Inserra Jr. ’71 (Joyce Reggio ‘71); adored grandchildren, Rachel Wengierski Krzyzaniak ’96 (Josh) and T.J. Wengierski; and great-grandchildren, Taylor, Grace and Emma.

EARL QUATTLEBAUM 76 years old, of West Palm Beach, FL, died at his home on Monday, May 28, 2007 following an extended illness. Born August 25, 1930 in Jacksonville, FL, Earl was the son of Guy Earle and Mildred Quattlebaum. He moved to the Palm Beach area in 1944 and graduated St. Ann High School, Class of 1948 as Valedictorian. As a dedicated and active member of St. Ann Church and School, he served all areas of parish life. He was a member St. Ann Catholic Church since 1944; served as a Past President of St. Ann Home and School Association; a Past President of the Cardinal Newman Home and School Association; a Past Chairman and 53 year member of the Cardinal Newman Athletic Association; and a member of St. Ann Church Finance Council. Earl also was a member of Palm Beach Council #2075 Knights of Columbus; a member of the Father Andrew Doherty 4th Degree General Assembly Knights of Columbus; and received the papal appointment of Knight of St. Gregory. Earl is survived by his wife of 56 years, Phyllis Ann Quattlebaum; seven children, Gale Q. Schiffman ’69 (Steve), Gary E. Quattlebaum ‘72, Glenda Q. Houck ‘ (Mike), Grace Q. Rich ‘76 (John), Gregory M. Quattlebaum ‘80 (Julie ‘85), Gerald E. Quattlebaum ‘85 (Lori) and Guy E. Quattlebaum ‘87(Amy); 19 grandchildren, Melissa, Michael, Jesse, Aimee ‘98, Joseph, Ally, Julia, Tricia, John Paul, Thomas, Gregory, Gretchen, Grant, Reid, Evan, Libby, Katie, Guy Everett, Emma; and two great grandchildren, Wyatt and Joshua. MR. JEROME R. GIDDINGS passed on August 20, 2007 after an extended illness. J. Raymond is the father of Lisa Giddings, ’83 and David Giddings, ’90. He was the son of Dorothy Ruth Giddings and Dawsy Yulee Giddings. He was well known for his witty and lively spirit and was loved by all.
 
Ugartemendia, Olga, 77, of West Palm Beach, passed away in September, 07. Her burial was delayed in the hope that George would recover enough to attend.

ANTONIO R. ARVESU died peacefully Friday morning, November 30, 2007 at JFK Hospital. Born and raised in Cienfuegos, Cuba. He came to the United States in 1962 and worked in the sugar industry of Florida for 29 years. He was a the parishioner of St. Juliana Catholic Church. Preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Alba, ’68. Survivors include his wife Berta Arvesu, his son Tony Arvesu , ’71 and wife Silvia,’71 son-in-law Arturo Alba, grandchildren Luissa, Arturo Alba and wife Debra, Marisa, Kristina, and Daniel Arvesu, brother Manuel Arvesu and wife Miriam and many loving cousins, nephews and nieces.
