Your responsibilities as an alumnus of Cardinal Newman High School include:

 

Let us know where you are so we can send you publications, notices of events and reunions, and keep your record up-to-date. Also, share your alumni news with us so we can keep you in touch with your classmates. Send information to jwilley@cardinalnewman.com.

 

Many events here at Cardinal Newman would not be possible if it were not for alumni volunteers. Writing letters to your classmates, participating in the annual phone-a-thon, and assisting with the auction are just a couple of ways you may volunteer your time and talents. Please contact Jessica Willey, Alumni Coordinator, if you are interested in volunteering your time.

 

As you know, it is expensive to operate a private high school and tuition alone does not pay the entire cost of a private high school education. The “Annual Giving Appeal” assists CNHS in meeting the school’s annual operating costs.

 

The “AGA” supports scholarships, faculty and staff salaries, maintenance of campus facilities, and helps finance student services. Without the “AGA”, attending Cardinal Newman may be impossible for many potential CNHS students. As an alumna/us, you can help make it possible for potential students to become actual students. As alumna/us, the challenge is passed on to you.

 

The “AGA” is "unrestricted" giving, which means it can be used wherever it is needed.

 

Some companies have a "Matching Gift" program, which will match, double, or even triple your annual gift to the High School with one of their own. You can contact the personnel office at your company to see how your gift may be increased.

 

Once a year, you will be receiving a call from students, alumni or parent volunteers during our annual phone-a-thon. You will be asked to make a pledge toward the “AGA” and also given an opportunity to ask questions about the High School or pass along alumni notes. Whether you pledge or not, please do not hang up. Use this opportunity to learn and reminisce.

 

Recommending Students

Another special means of support is to recommend potential students to Cardinal Newman. Spreading the good word about CNHS is another simple, yet invaluable gesture of support.

Participate

Keep in touch and come back often! Keep abreast of what's happening and where YOUR high school is headed. Your diploma makes you a stakeholder in CNHS. Know how your investment is doing and reinvest. Affirm your decision of choosing CNHS by continuing to support the programs and students.

Be proud of your roots! You'll be surprised how many people have heard of Cardinal Newman High School, and for those who haven't, tell them with pride. Please call us anytime!
